I learned you should always run your own race, and don’t compare yourself to others or try to keep pace with someone else. You never know what kind of preparation they had, but you definitely know how ill prepared you are. Keep the first half slow, then ramp it up in the second half.
What better way to see a local area than to run it. Yesterday at the Snowies Trail Run Festival at Lake Crackenback running 21km along the Thredbo River valley up to Ngarigo campground and back. Fantastic run, scenery and adventure. How often is the starter’s gun an authentic whip cracking mountain man? Or your warm up run includes a few huge grey kangaroo males looking on? Only in the Snowy mountains.
