Running den gamle Ridevegen

Posted by JM on Sep 30, 2017

Yesterday afternoon on Den gamle Ridevegen (the old riding trail) in Søndre Land municipality which connects Fluberg down at Randsfjorden to Landåsbygda.

The trail has been in use for about 1,000 years, and also connects Søndre Land to the Bergenske Kongevegen (the Bergen King’s Road), which travellers of yesteryear took from Oslo to Bergen over Filefjell mountain pass.

The trail takes you past some of the local farms

The trail is quite spectacular with several info boards telling the history of the local sights. Worth a hike, ride or a run 🙂

And into some amazing forest, especially in autumn
