It was a beautiful, sunny winter’s day, after another frosty start, that greeted the Map of Tassie gang in Sheffield.
The view from the lookout towards Mt Roland.
We met up at the bakery and drove out to the Kimberley Range, which looks over Sheffield from the north.
I had heard about the Redwater Creek falls from the dog owner of a housesit we did last year in Sheffield.

He had recommended taking his dog, Molly, there for a walk, which in the end we didn’t get round to doing. But we did drive out to check the area for future hikes.
Suddenly entering a rainforest and limestone wonderland.
Which is what we embarked on today, the track from Kimberley’s Lookout to Charley’s Lookout - where the wind was rather icy but gave us a spectacular view of Mt Roland. Then we descended down through a forest of melaleuca and masses of mud to Redwater Creek falls.
An amazing limestone feature in the shape of a whale.
What a surprise! I hadn’t expected such beautiful rainforest, or the presence of limestone and cave formations, so close to Sheffield. It was stunning.
The cool beauty of Redwater Creek rainforest.
Tassie never ceases to amaze and dazzle.
