Pick up service

If you plan on taking the train from Oslo, your end destination will either be Raufoss or Gjøvik train station. Raufoss is the station before Gjøvik, and Gjøvik is the final stop. It will be our pleasure to pick you up (this must be requested well in advance) at either, or you can take the local Opplandstrafikk 343 bus up to Landåsen (ask the driver to let you out at Landåsvegen 843) from Gjøvik bus terminal. There is no bus to Landåsbygda from Raufoss.

If you plan on taking the bus from Oslo Gardemoen, then your end destination will be Gjøvik skyss stasjon. The above pick up and local bus info applies to this option as well.

If our pick up service is requested at the last minute, a 75 Kroner per person fee will apply. If booked well in advance, it is free of charge. This is so we can combine your pickup with something we need to do in Gjøvik, such as shopping, going to the library, a walk, etc.

Arrival from Bergen (west)

There are two routes from Bergen, one via Filafjell (E16) and the other via the Hardangervidda (Rv7). In winter, the Rv7 over Hardangervidda may be closed. In summer both routes are open.

If you take the E16 then follow it all the way until you get to Aurdal. Shortly after Aurdal there will be the Rv33 turnoff to the left. Follow the Rv33 to Dokka. About 10 mins after Dokka, at the village of Odnes, there is a turnoff to the left up to Landåsen. This is quite a steep hill in winter, so you may want to continue another 5-7 mins on the Rv33 to the next turnoff to Landåsbygda. However, in summer the Odnes turnoff is fine. If you take it, then you will be on the Rv132 or Landåsvegen. Follow it through Landåsbygda until you reach our home which will be on the right.

If you take the Rv7 follow it all the way to Gol. At Gol, take the Rv51 until you reach Leira. At Leira turn right onto the E16 and drive towards Bragn. You will arrive at the same intersection as described above. Take the turnoff onto the Rv33 to Dokka.

If you don’t take the steep Odnes turnoff, and instead continue a few kilometres to the official Landåsbygda turnoff, then it will be on your left too. Follow the road up to a T-junction. Turn left to Landåsen. This will be the Fv132 or Landåsvegen. Follow it for about 6 km. Our place is on the left.

Arrival from Oslo or Gardemoen airport (south)

If it’s your first time to this part of the world, then we recommend taking the Rv33 scenic route along the Mjøsa from Oslo centre or Oslo Gardemoen airport.

From Oslo centre head north on the E6 towards Hamar. Do the same from Oslo Gardemoen. Take the Rv33 turn off at Minnesund, and follow the Rv33 all the way to Gjøvik. Continue on the Rv33 through Gjøvik, following the sign to Fagernes. The Rv33 to Fagernes will take you up out of Gjøvik. Once you reach a kind of plateau after 10 km, there will be a turnoff to your right to Landåsbygda. Turn here, then take the turnoff to the left to Landåsen. Follow the Fv132 or Landåsvegen for about 6 km. Our place will be on the left.

If it’s not your first time to this part of the world, then from Oslo centre take the Rv4 all the way up to Gjøvik. From Oslo Gardemoen take the E16 to Hønefoss and at Grua, there will be the turnoff onto the Rv4.

Take the Rv4 north towards Gjøvik. You won’t go into Gjøvik centre, but on the outskirts, there will be a roundabout with a turn left onto the Rv33 in the direction of Fagernes. Take this exit. Follow the Rv33 to Fagernes. This road will take you up out of Gjøvik. Once you reach a kind of plateau after 10 km, there will be a turnoff to your right to Landåsbygda. Turn here, then take the turnoff to the left to Landåsen. Follow the Fv132 or Landåsvegen for about 6 km. Our place will be on the left.

Arrival from Sweden (east)

If coming from Sweden, then follow the E16 until you reach Grua and the turnoff onto the Rv4. Take the Rv4 north towards Gjøvik. You won’t go into Gjøvik centre, but on the outskirts, there will be a roundabout with a turn left onto the Rv33 in the direction of Fagernes. Take this exit. Follow the Rv33 to Fagernes. Arrival from Trondheim (north)

Take the E6 all the way down to Biri. Shortly after Biri there will be the bridge crossing to Hamar. Don’t take this route. Continue straight on the Rv33 to Gjøvik instead. Once in Gjøvik, follow the Rv33 Fagernes sign. The Rv33 will take you up out of Gjøvik. Once you reach a kind of plateau after 10 km, there will be a turnoff to your right to Landåsbygda.
