Mt Field Weekend

Thanks to the talented hiking crew of Hildegunn, Anna and Kylie for an amazing weekend at Mt Field National Park in magical summer weather.

We met up at the Base Camp Tasmania retreat, with excellent facilities and then headed up onto the plateau to hike from Lake Dobson over to Rodman Hut, along the Tarn Shelf and down to Lake Webster and back to the carpark. It was a long 8.5 hour day but I think everyone agreed the scenery, nature, and after effects were well worth it. There was even a dip in Lake Dobson to celebrate at the end.

Yesterday was an easier day, hiking up through the waterfall circuit of Russell Falls, Horsehoe Falls and Lady Barron Falls.

Mt Field, we will definitely see you again very soon, with more lake hopping, lazing about in a hut and enjoying the wonderful outdoors. Plus longer more adventurous hikes to Mt Field West. See you all on the next hiking adventure.
