Rescuing a goshawk

Date published: 20 Jun 2018 - Written by: Jasmin

This beautiful brown goshawk was inside the goat shed this morning and didn’t know how to get out.

She kept flying from one side of the barn to the other attempting to exit through the windows, where the brightest light was, but both were covered with a corrugated plastic roofing material.

So we opened the shed door, but it didn’t seem to click in the goshawk’s mind that she could get out that way. Then we grabbed the ladder and some tools, and Hildegunn unbolted the plastic roofing, rolled it up and I went inside to get the goshawk to fly out of the opening.

Happy to say, mission accomplished. Good to have your freedom back!
